Paris : The delegation led by Jean-Lou BLACHIER, President of the GPF and Houssam NASRAWIN, member of the Executive Board, met with government entities, investors interested in African French speaking countries, Francophone business owners, and members of the GPF in the UAE.

A meeting was also held with H.E. Ahmad BELHOUL Al FALASI, the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs. In addition to Jean-Lou BLACHIER and Houssam NASRAWIN, were also present during this meeting, François ASSELIN, President of the CPME (the Union of French SMEs), Jean-Eudes du Mesnil du BUISSON, Secretary General and Béatrice BRISSON, head of international affairs.

The GPF team visited the EXPO2020 and most of the pavilions of the country members of the Francophonie to meet with the exhibitors.

A seminar was held to give an overview of the UAE market to 50 SMEs coming from France. It was organized by the GPF in partnership with the CPME and Al Dar Consultants. During the event, Houssam NASRAWIN underlined the outstanding opportunities that the UAE market offers to French companies.

The meetings in Abu Dhabi and Dubai were an opportunity to discuss the economic Francophonie between the GPF and Emirati entities. MOUs were signed and several actions are planned in the coming months in the UAE.

"We are looking forward to establishing a long term relationship with the UAE. Strong ties bind France and the UAE and we believe that the country can be a hub to connect the Francophone and Francophile countries in Africa, Europe and the Middle-East." said Jean Lou BLACHIER.

This trip was an initiative that followed the meeting between H.E. Hend Al OTAIBA, Ambassador of the UAE in France with Jean-Lou BLACHIER and Houssam NASRAWIN in Paris in October 2021
