Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - The President of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dr. Bandar Hajjar has announced the appointment of Dr. Abdulhakim Elwaer as the official spokesperson for the IsDB Group.

Dr. Hajjar stated that the spokesperson will be responsible for addressing media enquiries on behalf of the Group, and will communicate with members of the public on various initiatives and development interventions of the IsDB.

“Dr. Abdulhakim Elwaer is a qualified administrator with a lot of international exposure.  He brings to this job an invaluable experience, having served at the highest level of government, and international organisations like the African Union. I am confident that he will discharge this responsbility with the vigour and the quest for excellence he is known for,” said  Dr. Bandar Hajjar.

The new IsDB Group spokesperson is currently the Director, Cooperation and Resource Mobilization at the IsDB. Before joining IsDB, he was Director of Administration and Human Resource Management at the African Union. He has also served as the Minister of Environment in Libya, and was the President of African Ministerial Conference on Environment (AMCEN).

Dr. Abdulhakim Elwaer holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He has attended several courses on leadership and management, and has expertise in communications, diplomacy and international development.
