- Five-day course to begin on April 28, 2019
Dubai: TAQATI, the dedicated Office for the Dubai Energy Efficiency Strategy, set up under Etihad Energy Service Company (Etihad ESCO), has announced its new comprehensive and globally recognized course on building commissioning, the first training program of its kind in the MENA region. It will be offered as part of the Dubai Energy Efficiency Training Program, which is Dubai Government initiative led by TAQATI in partnership with the British University in Dubai (BUiD).
The new Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP®) course, developed by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), will teach the technical details and fundamental principles of the entire building commissioning processes such as design, installations, functionality tests, and capabilities of building owner’s operational needs. It includes commissioning for new buildings, retro-commissioning, and smart building commissioning best practices. CBCP’s 12 wide-ranging modules are specifically designed to benefit building and industry owners, engineers, architects, developers, consultants, facility managers, commissioning professionals, auditors, ESCOs and others in similar fields.
The CBCP course to be conducted at BUiD campus will start on April 28, 2019 until May 2, 2019. At the end of the five-day course, course attendees will have the opportunity to take the CBCP examination. Those passing the exam and meeting prescribed education and experience eligibility requirements are eligible for the CBCP certification.
Ali Al Jassim, CEO, Etihad ESCO, said: “CBCP aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of all professionals involved in energy efficiency initiatives in Dubai. We are proud to be the first organization to introduce this internationally recognized training course in the entire MENA region, a move that reflects our commitment to help build the right capabilities to achieve Dubai’s target of 30 per cent reduction in energy consumption by 2030,” Al Jassim said.
The Dubai Energy Efficiency Training Program was launched in April 2018 to effectively address the need for best-in-class energy efficiency trainings in the emirate’s energy sector. The program’s 2019 calendar consists of 18 sessions that combine an array of internationally and locally certified training modules to cater to the learning and development needs of various stakeholders in Dubai’s energy sector.
“We will always strive to offer contemporary training courses to ensure quality and excellence in the energy efficiency market via our Dubai Energy Efficiency Training Program. We will offer more new and advanced training courses such as CBCP to our target market in the coming months. The new CBCP course is not only proof of our commitment to the industry but it will also help create value by offering continuous opportunities for professional development,” he concluded.
