Dubai, United Arab Emirates:  Capital College UAE, a leading higher education institution announces its support for Step Saudi, Middle Eastern’s biggest entrepreneurial hub and the home to the Kingdom's best entrepreneurs, innovators and digital enthusiasts. The college will be Step Saudi’s Ecosystem Partners through which the higher education institution pledges to support budding entrepreneurs and start-ups to find investors and kick off their corporate journey in the region. Being the region's first entrepreneurial college in the UAE, Capital College believes that startups, tech leaders and enthusiasts represent a significant community of the rising economy in the Middle East. Through this partnership, the college aims to create further awareness of the diverse channels offered by Step Saudi to successfully launch a career as an entrepreneur.

As per a Startup data platform (Magnitt), entrepreneurial funding in Saudi Arabia has increased by 102% in the first half of 2020 alone. The data suggests that the total revenue in the Kingdom has grown faster than the average across the entire Middle Eastern and North African region. While many countries in the region saw a drop of 8% in the number of entrepreneurship deals, Saudi Arabia witnessed a surge of 29%. Alternatively, UAE has also witnessed a drastic shift where entrepreneurs are looking into diversifying through social enterprises and using technology as an aid to earn revenues.

According to the UAE Ministry of Economy, more than 94% of the companies in the UAE are considered to be registered under SMEs that accounts to more than 86% of the private-sector workforce. In line with this, Capital College believes to impart the wisdom of entrepreneurship and build a niche community of young talents of their college while supporting Step Saudi and their initiative to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and investors.

Commenting on being regarded as Step Saudi’s ecosystem partners, Dr Vikas Nand Kumar Batheja, Co-Founder & Director, Capital College comments “We have come to a stage where entrepreneurs are offered multiple avenues through which they can launch their startup. However, it has become important for them to pick the right pathway and we firmly believe that Step Saudi has built a strong portfolio over the years that must be made aware. As Step Saudi’s ecosystem partners, we strive to create awareness on these subjects amongst our students, faculty and our social media community in the hope that aspiring business leaders and digital enthusiasts find a medium to be vocal about their innovations and ideas.”

Adding to the vision, fellow Co-Founder & Director, Capital College, Dr Sanjay Batheja says “With UAE gearing up for the Dubai Expo 2021 where more than 190 participants and over 25 million people are expected as audiences, entrepreneurship has already set a thriving trend in the business industry. There could not have been a better time for us to partner with Step Saudi and support their initiatives of providing entrepreneurs with a platform to ideate and execute their business visions. Also, with Capital College being an entrepreneurial higher education institution, we are aiming to develop programs that will ignite the inner entrepreneur in students and give them the right support and platform to make their dreams reality.”
