Dubai, UAE: The Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF), Asia's most influential leadership platform, launches the Second Conclave of the ABLF TALKS LIVE, a series of virtual conclaves across 12 months, featuring world-renowned policymakers, thinkers and industry leaders in engaging conversations of consequence on Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the ABLF City, the permanent virtual venue of the ABLF.
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Second Conclave of the 12-part virtual event series sheds light on the future of globalisation in an age of unprecedented global change and the clarion call towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The course of globalisation in the next few years, the challenges posed by economic nationalism and the need to strike a balance between self-reliance and multilateral cooperation will be fleshed out across 3 Fireside Conversations with government officials as well as industry leaders including Dr Shashi Tharoor, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Thiruvananthapuram Constituency, and Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, India; H.E. Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Expo 2020 Dubai Commissioner General Office; Suhel Seth, Managing Partner, Counselage India; and Diana Hamade, Founder and Managing Partner, Diana Hamade Attorneys at Law.
Connecting with activists, corporate humanitarians and global-aid organisations to learn more about the impact of the pandemic on the 17 UN SDGs and the new goals and timelines for efforts to support the world’s underserved and vulnerable, the Second Conclave of the ABLF TALKS LIVE also features the presence of H.E. Mariam AlMheiri, Minister of State for Food and Water Security, UAE; Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist, World Health Organization; and H.E. Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Power; Minister of State (IC), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy; and Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
While the ABLF TALKS LIVE brings together government and business leaders to discuss policies, strategies and statistics around the economic fallout due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps to resuscitate the world economy, the event series will also showcase the perspectives of philosophers, historians and literary scholars on today’s ever evolving global narratives. The Second Conclave launches the session entitled, ‘Global Storytellers at the ABLF’ with William Dalrymple, Historian and Author of the internationally acclaimed book ‘The Anarchy: The Relentless Rise of the East India Company’.
