MANAMA: Diversity on Board (DOB), an online platform that connects Arab talent to opportunities to serve on executive and advisory boards, is launching its inaugural virtual Diversity on Board Forum powered by HSBC from July 13 to15.

The event will convene business, government, civil society, entrepreneurs and investors from across the Middle East and globally, to discuss how inclusive leadership and boardroom diversity can help rebuild post-pandemic economies and societies and reinforce resilience, under three content tracks tailored for: Women seeking board positions, Organisations seeking board members and to diversify their boards, and Entrepreneurs looking to structure and leverage board diversity for growth.

“The forum will include a rich variety of panels, live masterclasses, on-demand learning, fireside chats, speed mentoring, networking, and advisory board simulations to engage participants under the three content tracks.

In addition to connecting experienced women to board positions and supporting organisations in diversifying their boards, our mission is to support the lesser known, yet exceptional, Arab talent in getting their first board position,” explained Leena Al Olaimy, co-founder of Diversity on Board and executive chairperson of 3BL Associates, which is incubating the initiative.

“Although we are starting with women, we will gradually broaden our scope to include other under-represented groups like youth and persons with disabilities. We are also committed to making the forum content accessible to all,” Ms Al Olaimy added.

Speakers include CEOs and board chairpersons, astronauts and entrepreneurs, investors and venture capitalists, former ministers and current government officials, researchers and think-tanks, and women ranked among the ‘Forbes Most Influential and Powerful Women in the Middle East’.

The forum will be hosted on Hopin, an online event platform.

Tickets are free of charge, but limited. Sessions will be livestreamed for those unable to secure a ticket.

Diversity on Board is a 3BL Associates think-do-tank initiative, powered by HSBC, and the following founding partners: GudJuju, KPMG, Obai & Hill, the Women Power Summit, the Economic Development Board, BMMI Group, the Manama Hub of the Global Shapers Community and Zain Bahrain.
