Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, the Finance MENA Forum took place today, October 16, 2017, in Amman at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The participants addressed key topics in the financial industry relating to the new shape of banking in the Fintech era.

Amman, JordanHRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society, inaugurated the Finance MENA Forum: The New Shape of Banking in the Fintech Era, taking place in Amman at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The forum brought together top regional and global executives from 75 regional and global companies and organizations. The Central Bank of Jordan is the strategic partner of the Finance MENA Forum.

In her note speech that was delivered by Dr. Nabil Fayoumi, Advisor to HRH for Technical Affairs at the Royal Scientific Society told delegates that this forum comes at a key point for the banking sector in the Arab World. Although bank account penetration in our region has lagged behind other regions globally, the widespread of data, and the massive uptake of technology by the younger generation, which constitute a majority of the region’s population, are factors that represent a key opportunity for the financial sector to reach potential clients through channels that cater to their needs the most. This era presents financial institutions with multiple opportunities to transform from the traditional entities that they were, to dynamic, customer-friendly facilitators of the expectations and dreams of future generations. I believe we will witness a major shift in the needs and requirements of clients, as well as a shift in the way financial institutions do business.

On this occasion, Mohammed Al Shawwa, Arab Advisors General Manager said "The unprecedented growth in the adoption of digital solutions today is changing the shape of all industries, and the financial sector is no exception. We are now witnessing a shift in the mindset in the sector, and the introduction of new digital channels and solutions, that change not only how banks deal with the emerging needs of the clients, but also the way the financial institutions operate. The Forum brings thought leaders and experts from the financial and digital industries together to discuss the bright future of the financial industry.
