Muscat: As advocates of Oman’s Vision 2040 and to show its support for the Sultanate’s youth in shaping the future, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) sponsored Sultan Qaboos University’s Second Students Research Conference. The event targeted both undergraduates and postgraduates and aimed to provide a rich research environment to facilitate scientific cooperation between students and researchers.

The forum focused on three main topics included within Oman’s Vision 2040: energy and environment, education, and economic diversification and sustainable development. Students across the Sultanate presented their research papers at the conference, themes comprised climate change, global warming, water pollution and treatment to name but a few.

At the two-day event, Mohammed Al Mujaini, OOMCO’s Senior Manager of Health, Safety, Security and Environment and Quality Assurance, highlighted OOMCO’s green initiatives, including its solar-powered stations with built-in electric vehicle charging stations and LED lights. He also spoke about OOMCO leading by example by promoting a clean energy culture and implementing better practices among fuel distributors.
