The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the provision of pedal-assist bikes for visitors to get around the Expo 2020 site, which spans 4.38 square kilometres.

At least 230 Careem bikes have been deployed to 23 stations, according to a statement.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO for public transport at the RTA, said that bike sharing is a “a great way of getting around” inside the Expo venue.

Visitors have been encouraged to use public transport to access Expo 2020. The event is expected to register 25 million visits over its six-month duration.

At the weekend, Expo 2020 Dubai’s official Twitter account said the best way to enjoy the Expo 2020 at the weekend is by arriving by Dubai Metro.

Last week, the authority announced free bus rides to the Expo site.
