ArabFinance: Overseas online retailer Amazon said it provides its services in Egypt through more than 10 distribution centers nationwide, according to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones’ (GAFI) August 11th statement.

The US company has approximately 1,000 employees in the Arab Republic besides its delivery agents, GAFI’s statement said, adding that this proves the ongoing expansion Amazon aims at in the Egyptian market.

Amazon Egypt’s officials discussed with the Executive Director of GAFI Mohamed Abdel Wahab the latest logistics technologies the company can provide through the transformation of its warehouses and distribution centers to operate digitally.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO, said last month the company created more than 175,000 new jobs since March. The business also plans to bring 125,000 of these employees into regular, full-time positions.
