German retail sales rose more than expected in May from the previous month, data showed on Friday.
The Federal Statistics Office said retail sales were up 0.4% month-on-month. Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted sales would remain unchanged on the month.
Compared with May 2022, sales fell 3.6%.
