(TAP) - Prime Minister Youssef Chahed kicked off on Saturday the extension and development works of the Sousse Olympic Stadium and the municipal swimming pool, as of March.

Works to be undertaken at the stadium will start on March 25 by means of 32 million dinars and will focus on the extension of the stands and bleachers to reach a capacity of 40,000 seats.

Other works will be done in the locker rooms and toilets as well as the electricity and security network and in the stadium environment.

In addition, the Prime Minister, who was accompanied by the Ministers of Youth and Sports and of Equipment, Housing and Spatial Development, the Governor of Sousse and several MPs, kicked off the Olympic pool development works worth 13 million dinars.

This project, whose works will start on March 15, consists in the construction of a 50m-swimming pool and another for training, in addition to stands seating 340 spectators, a training gym and locker rooms.
