Award-winning restaurant setting new benchmarks once again
DIFC, Dubai, UAE: 18 November 2012 - ZUMA Dubai, the innovative restaurant, bar and lounge concept is leading the field once again, this time in the area of food hygiene and safety. The team was recently honoured with a PIC food safety system from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is the first restaurant in the region to achieve and implement the rigorous standards association with this certification.
Over the past months, the ZUMA team has been working hard with the CIEH, the leading global environmental and public health training and awarding organization to implement the new CIEH PIC Food Safety System, which is now available to all food businesses across the UAE. ZUMA's dedication to winning this accolade underlines its commitment to international best practice and setting a benchmark for the region. The award was independently verified by Pillsbury Consulting.
Spero Pangakis, General Manager for ZUMA Dubai comments, "We are very pleased to have won this important and hard earned qualification that adds yet another string to our bow. We hope that we encourage other restaurants in the UAE to follow us in ensuring the on-going success and development of the hospitality sector in the region."

All of ZUMA's management and chefs are extensively trained in London before working in ZUMA's international locations. The Dubai venture was the fourth site to open in the Group's expansion plan, the most recent sites being Miami in 2010 and Bangkok in 2011. Over the next few years, Zuma will be looking to continue opening new restaurants in some of the world's most cosmopolitan cities.
