The Second Live Advanced Gynae Laparoscopic Workshop ’09 was part of Zulekha Healthcare Group and DHA’s concerted effort to deliver better care and usher in global standards in the UAE. This is being pursued by bringing together top-tier medical professionals and raising awareness on latest treatment procedures and modalities along with regions foremost centres –the Alwasl and Dubai Hospital.
We are aware how ‘Key-hole’ (Laparoscopic) surgery has revolutionized gynaecology in the last couple of decades. New benchmarks are being set and old gold standards are being improved upon. Especially in a world that is advancing so rapidly, laparoscopy promises to make surgery a comfortable experience with minimum blood loss and pain, a shorter convalescence and early return to normal life vis-à-vis conventional surgery. In such times, this conference imbibed the doctrine of Laparoscopy and how to make major surgeries safer through minimal invasive techniques.
This workshop addressed the growing demand by informed patients that puts a huge responsibility on medical professionals. All surgical procedures - especially evolving types; carry a risk of mal occurrence or preventable medical errors. This is where the premium on ‘enhanced physician training’ like hands-on workshop with Pelvi-trainer emphasized the way ahead. Incidentally, key-hole removal of Uterus and Fibroids are now accepted procedures albeit with rigorous, focused and supervised training.

This workshop on major laparoscopic procedures was presented as a unique opportunity to learn and share experiences with experts in the field. Dr. Neeta Warty - Gynaec Laparoscopic surgeon of international repute at Zulekha Hospital.The workshop was chaired by Dr Mary John, Consultant & HOD, Dept of Obs & Gynae, Al Wasl Hospital and Dr Raja Haqqi, Consultant & HOD, Dept of Obs & Gynae ,Dubai Hospital.
Dr. Neeta warty is a gynaec laparoscopic surgeon, listed in the Guinness Book and Limca Book of world records for removing the worlds largest fibroids laparoscopically till date. More than 130 professionals in gynecology, infertility, and surgery participated in this Workshop which was on 30th October ‘09 at Raffles Hotel Dubai and aired live from the Operating theatre of Zulekha Hospital, Dubai where Dr Warty conducted and taught laparoscopic surgeries.
This workshop was certified by Dubai Health Authority with 5.5 Credit Hours.
