Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Vanuatu Trade Mission to Dubai, UAE, the sole diplomatic representative office of the Vanuatu government in the UAE, is pleased to announce they now have the ability to receive and deliver Vanuatu passports’ from Dubai. This development is in line with the newly elected government’s commitment to empower its citizens abroad, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic where immigration officers are unable to enter the country to perform authorizations.

The Vanuatu government, under the leadership of the Hon. Prime Minister Bob Loughman, has embarked on an ambitious strategy to drive greater foreign direct investment into the country. As a result, new trade commissioners are being appointed around the globe to forge new relations with different countries and to promote Vanuatu.

Led by Mimoun A. Assraoui as Chairman, David Regueiro as CEO, and John Hanafin as Foreign Direct Investor Director, the Vanuatu Trade Mission in Dubai, UAE has the mandate to boost trade, investment and tourism between Vanuatu and the UAE. Furthermore, it is commissioned to provide consular services to the hundreds of Vanuatu citizens living in the UAE, including passport renewal, birth registration, driver license, business license application/renewal and bank account openings.

Mimoun A. Assraoui, Chairman of the Vanuatu Trade Mission in Dubai, UAE stated, “we are honoured by the opportunity to assist and support Vanuatu citizens in the UAE. The country has one of the most desirable citizenship programmes, and we look forward offering more consular services to Vanuatu citizens from Dubai, which is the core business hub of the UAE.”

“For years, tourism has accounted for the major share of the commercial activities in the country, and it’s time to help diversify the sources of income with an inflow of sustainable foreign investment,” he added.
