March 20, 2011 - Amman - University of Jordan signed an agreement with Sermon Business Solutions for the provision of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) specialized workshops to train and qualify the university's students as well as employees from both public and private sectors on Microsoft Dynamics Axapta ERP.

Signed by Dr. Khaled Al Rawajfeh, Center of Consultation Manager and Sermon Business Solutions CEO Eng. Omar Zaidan, the agreement states that Sermon will conduct intensive workshops for the Engineering, Accounting, Business and IT faculties' students and alumni, preparing them for Microsoft certificates in ERP.

"This agreement falls within the university's vision and policy, which aims at appropriating its academic outcomes with the market's needs and private companies' expectations off students. To meet these expectations, the University is keen on keeping in pace with the latest developments, collaborating with private sector enterprises to benefit from their market experience and employing it to enrich the students' academic achievements and preparing them for the market," In his comment, Dr. Rawajfeh said.

He further illustrated that the curriculum is presented by Microsoft, covering three major tracks including Financial Management Module, Trade and Logistic Management Module, in addition to installing, configuring and deploying ERP.

"In addition to its academic value, the workshops will offer the students an opportunity to attain an MS degree that we hope will facilitate their engagement in the market," Dr. Rawajfeh added.

Upon signing the agreement, Eng. Zaidan said, "We are delighted by this collaboration with the University of Jordan, and of being amongst its academic matrix that is considered one of the most prominent universities in the region."

He added, "The workshops are not limited to the university's students only. It is also available as an opportunity for private and public sector employees, to acquire both knowledge and skill that would boost their career."

Zaidan pointed out that ERP is an integrated system, linking all enterprise's departments to ensure data workflow, unlike previous systems in its wholeness.

Imad Al Faris from Microsoft emphasized on the importance of these workshops and their role in preparing Jordanian human resources and University of Jordan students to deal with Microsoft's latest technologies, saying, "We value this collaboration and hope that it will be the ground to incorporating Microsoft's curriculum within the university's. We highly appreciate Sermon Business Solutions' role and ability to teach the students our curriculum in a methodological and practical manner that would illustrate its role in business."
