UAE - Leading Rental and Leasing Company, Shift Car Rental, a part of AW Rostamani Group (authorized distributors for Nissan, Infiniti & Renault) has announced the launch of their new office at the Dubai Internet City this month.
The new office will cater to the communities – Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Road and the Palm. The target group will include the residents, working community and the rising number of tourists.
“With the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) promoting Dubai as a major tourist destination on the world map, there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting the city. Tourists are more likely to rent a car for sightseeing and exploring the city”, said Ashish Nanda, Senior General Manager at Shift Car Rental.
According to the Shift Car Rental, the car rental market is in a consolidation phase at the moment with a few large and medium size companies downsizing their fleets and branch outlets. A change has been seen in customers now opting for smaller and fuel efficient vehicles. Customers look for value and are more cost conscious when renting cars.
“The last year was challenging. However, with the rise of UAE consumers being more cost and fuel conscious, they prefer renting or leasing a car over buying one. In 2016, our short term business grew by 36%. Our AED 400 million investment initiative which began in 2015 is on track. Our state of the art facility at Al Quoz has proved to be one of our flagship locations. We want to be closer to our customers and our new office at Dubai Internet City will help us achieve this”, added Ashish Nanda.
Shift Car Rental is one of the few companies to offer its customer’s digital device based delivery system called Shift Leasing Delivery Management System (SLDMS) where their customers are given a paperless experience, one of their various initiatives to Go Green. Recently they were award the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport Awards (DAST) by the Dubai RTA for their green initiatives.
Commenting on the future plans for Shift Car Rental, Ashish Nanda said, “Our plans for the coming year include opening a new office in Abu Dhabi in addition to the one at Musaffah service centre. Besides this, with Expo 2020 just three years away, we have been preparing ourselves and have commenced action plans to increase our fleet by 50% to meet the rising demand for short term hire at that time.”
