Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6 December 2013: More than 100 dedicated top-level buyers from Albania, Bahrain, Kuwait, Macedonia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Ukraine gathered for one-on-one meetings with selected exhibitors from the Middle East's most prestigious and influential jewellery event.

The high profile exchanges reflect the increasing global appetite for gold jewellery, which according to World Gold Council has grown by 20 per cent in the last 12 months, reaching 3,757 tonnes, and valued at US $ 183.9 billion.

The 18th edition of the Dubai International Jewellery Week takes place until tomorrow (Saturday 7 December) featuring more than 360 exhibitors from around the world showcasing their latest jewellery collections, precious gemstones and cutting-edge designs.
