ThyssenKrupp Uhde has opened an engineering office in Qatar to enable its customers to benefit from its experience in implementing projects for the chemical process industries. The official reception to mark the opening of the office was held on May 9th 2013 at the Diplomatic Club in Doha, Qatar. It was attended by a number of leading customers and business associates from the region.
The office in Qatar will harness the process technologies, engineering and plant implementation expertise of the ThyssenKrupp Uhde Group, a German multinational engineering contractor, and its local affiliates Uhde India, Uhde Engineering Egypt and Uhde Arabia.
The new office will serve as an important link to ThyssenKrupp Uhde's head office in Dortmund, Germany, and the company's affiliates in India and Egypt in the execution of fertiliser, petrochemical and refinery projects in Qatar and the Middle East. ThyssenKrupp Uhde's association with important customers in Qatar and other countries in the MENA region dates back several decades and includes a number of projects implemented in the fields of polymers, petrochemicals, refineries, fertilisers and base chemicals using proprietary technologies as well as those of leading international technology licensors with whom ThyssenKrupp Uhde has been associated.
