Three new hotels in Turkey have swept the board in the 2013 CATHIC awards, announced today at the Turkey & Neighbours Hotel Investment Conference (CATHIC).
● Winner of Best New Hotel Across the Region is the Marti Hemithea, a 32 room hotel in Hisonaru Bay in the Marmaris region, which was completed in 2012.
The Marti Hemithea was chosen by the CATHIC judges for its combination of quality spaces and very high standards of service along with the utter serenity of its location and setting.
Emre Narin, Vice President, Marti Hotels & Marinas & Marti Real Estate Investment Trust accepted the award from John Goldwyn, Vice President Director of Planning and Landscape, WATG.
● Winner of Best New Hotel Turkey is The Grand Tarabya in Istanbul.
Completed on 1st February 2013, this 278 room hotel was described by the CATHIC judges as a comtemporary interpretation of a traditional concept. This property is a perfect example of a city resort where guest can relax away from the clamour of the city, but within easy reach of all of Istanbul's business and social life.
The award was accepted by Bora Goymen, General Manager of The Grand Tarabya, from Tavit Koletavitoglu, President, Atlas Project & Land Development
● Winner of Best New City Centre Hotel Across the Region is the Marti Istanbul Hotel.
This 270 room hotel was completed in 2012, and is located in the heart of Istanbul, next to Taksim Square. The judges chose this property because it represents a very successful conversion of a former office building into a hotel for a moderate investment amount. Its unique design, using quality materials, effectively blends local tastes with modern style.
Elif Egeli Nisanci, Director of Project Development, BLG Capital presented the award to Emre Narin of Marti Hotels.
The Turkey & Neighbours Hotel Investment Conference (CATHIC) will run from May 29 -30, 2013 at Marmara Taksim, Istanbul and is co-organised by Bench Events and Questex Media, which also manages the Russia and CIS Hotel Investment Conference, Arabian Hotel Investment Conference, International Hotel Investment Forum Asia Pacific and International Hotel Investment Forum Berlin.
