Children learn the importance of milk protected in carton packages

22nd June 2008: Tetra Pak Arabia, the leading food processing and packaging company, organised a day of fun-filled activities to celebrate World Milk Day with hundreds of children and parents at the Al Seef Mall in Bahrain.

The event, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of milk protected in long-life carton packages, consisted of a range of fun activities such as tail the cow, drinking milk contests, milk moustache and a variety of interactive games all centred on the topic of healthy and nutritious milk. Free samples of Awal flavoured and plain, long life milk were distributed and enjoyed thoroughly by children and parents alike. 

"Tetra Pak commemorates World Milk Day to create awareness on the importance of consuming milk protected in carton packages. We also believe it is our responsibility to enlighten the nutritional and healthy aspects of consuming milk on a daily basis," said Jesus Ortega, Dairy Category Manager, Tetra Pak Arabia.

The Bahrain event is part of Tetra Pak Arabia's ongoing drive to raise awareness about the health benefits of packaged milk products in the region. The World Milk Day activities organized in Bahrain are part of a regional campaign that includes Kuwait, Jeddah and UAE.

"It is important for children and parents today to learn the importance of consuming milk and its health benefits. Taking place on the 1st June every year, the World Milk Day is promoted by Food & Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
