Dubai, February 13, 2008: Germany-based STAHL CraneSystems, the global leader in supplying explosion protected crane technology, has announced the successful testing of its first explosion protected crane for Qatar Gas at its Jebel Ali facility in the UAE.
The crane was tested with a safe working load of 80 tons and a proof load of 100 tons. The first factory load test was conducted for two cranes part of an order of six explosion protected double girder EOT cranes. The testing took place under the inspection and witness of officials of Qatar Gas and Bureau Veritas.
Speaking on behalf of STAHL CraneSystems FZE, Mr Viswanathan Raman, Managing Director, said,"This order from Qatar Gas is the single biggest order in the history of our company. We are glad that we have been able to meet the requirements of our Qatar Gas."
STAHL CraneSystems has designed and built a unique test rig, where cranes up to a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 120 tons (proof load of 150 tons) and a span of 25 m can be tested in the future. The test rig, located at Jebel Ali, enables Stahl CraneSystems to offer their customers the whole benefits of fully tested cranes prior to delivery.
