"White Friday" 2014 was the biggest online shopping day that the Middle East has ever seen; it featured thousands of deals from different products and offered special discounts for the customers. The success of this campaign has proved that souq.com is the region's largest e-commerce player where it resulted in a ten-fold uplift to the e-tailer's average daily sales; an outcome which drove the e-commerce retailer to promise that "White Friday" will be annual event.
Following the success of this remarkable event, they has launched another successful campaign, He Sale - She Sale, in March 2015. It was introduced for the first time this year where the customers had the chance to choose from 4000 exclusive deals and saved up to 70% on electronics, fashion, home, beauty, etc.
As the mobile commerce is a key focus, this campaign focused on offering massive discounts and sale on mobile application since the officials/executives of souq.com have seen a much higher conversation rate on mobile than desktop.
Such big shopping events played a big role in the increase of the average daily order size. With similar initiatives, souq.com is achieving one of its main goals in encouraging the first-time online shoppers to take full advantage of the great deals available on various products, and to avail the services and benefits of a local e-commerce platform which offers value-added services over and above international sites such as secure online payment methods, option to pay cash, quick delivery times and free returns.
It is worth noting that souq.com, presents exclusive promotions, offers and deals daily and operates both as an award-winning retail site and an online marketplace that allows SMEs, merchants, distributers and third party sellers to use the site as a primary channel to offer their products online.
The e-commerce website offers a convenient and safe online shopping experience to customers across the Middle East and North Africa.
