Dubai, 25, February 2008: The Gigaset S680 and S685 (incl. answering machine) adds Bluetooth functionality to the Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) portfolio of Gigaset cordless phones. These new S-class models support the use of Bluetooth headsets and the transfer of V-Cards with PCs and mobile phones. Both phones distinguish themselves in terms of ease-of-use and award-winning high-class design (IF product design award). ECO-DECT technology ensures energy-efficiency and automatically reduces transmission power depending on the distance to the base station.
Via Bluetooth interface the Gigaset S680/S685 easily connects to Bluetooth headsets as well as mobile phones, PDAs and PCs for quick and simple data exchange. In order to support a smooth synchronisation with MS Outlook Contacts, users can download Siemens QuickSync Software for free at www.siemens.de/gigaset. Both Gigasets are able to receive digital images via Bluetooth. These can then be used as screen savers or Caller-ID visuals.
The Gigaset S680/685 is a family phone: the large illuminated display guarantees easy reading, the menus are intuitive, the keypad is clearly arranged and both phones offer useful extras such as SMS and baby phone.
Gigaset ECO-DECT technology saves up to 60% of energy in comparison to conventional Gigaset phones and reduces transmission power in ECO mode. If only one handset is in use, the base station reduces transmission power to almost zero given the handset is in its cradle. Outside the cradle or in case several handsets are in use ECO mode still reduces transmission power by 80 percent.
The address book saves up to 250 V-Card entries, each with up to three different phone numbers. Picture CLIP assigns an image to phone book entries. When the phone rings users see who is calling. Users who want to talk hands-free can choose between the comfortable speakerphone in full duplex quality, a Bluetooth headset or a standard headset with a standard 2.5 mm jack.
Up to six handsets can be connected to the base station. It is as simple to connect the Gigaset S680/S685 to additional handsets as to the front door intercom, Gigaset HC450. If someone rings at the door, Gigaset owners can speak with the visitor and open the door with their cordless Gigaset from anywhere in the home or garden.
The Gigaset S685 includes an answering machine that offers up to 40 minutes of recording time. It can be operated with the handsets or with the buttons on the base station.
The Gigaset S680 and Gigaset S685 with Bluetooth are an enhancement of the well-known Gigaset S670/675 phones and will be available in retail stores this spring.
