The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) organized training courses in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) in cooperation with New Horizon Co. The courses, aimed at developing the skills of SEDD's IT team, held at the Department's conference hall from 14-24 December 2009 under the supervision of trainer Nasir Al Hout.
In order to fulfill its goal of presenting the best services in accordance with the highest international quality standards, including ISO20000, the Department is providing all the necessary facilities to enhance the efficiency of its employees through the latest practical theories.
Says Nawal Askar, Head of Public and Economic Relations at SEDD: "Our IT division is one of the most vital divisions in the Department as it deals with the very important task of providing the best quality services to a wide database of clients".
"In light of the ongoing development of the Department and its divisions, we have resolved to develop the technical skills of the IT division. We believe that our cooperation with New Horizon will lead to fruitful results as the company is well-known for its rigorous training courses, not to mention trainer Nasir Al Hout's experience in this regard," added Askar.
During the ITIL course, participants obtained a number of individual skills needed to handle various software packages concerned with design, development, operation, support and activation of computer information systems. In addition, employees learned how to use computers and software applications to convert, save, protect, process, send and safely recover information while also learning to develop active communication and data collection skills.
