Up-to-date e-maps with business, leisure and other service listings, now available offline.

Dubai - An intelligent digital map and information system - 2GIS, has been launched in Sharjah and Ajman in alliance with the respective governments to deliver reliable accurate location-based information and services to the residents. The newly developed and fully functional app even helps pilot offline once downloaded.

The integrated app is constructed on a common base map of Sharjah and Ajman and enables users to discover and search intelligently for restaurants, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies and other places of interest. A concentrated dock of business listings and other services, 2GIS has included 1374 restaurants, 913 supermarkets, 102 banks and 500 pharmacies to make it a complete lifestyle offering. Combining both the emirates 2GIS has approximately over 61,000 listings covering retail, automobile, rental, leisure, entertainment and more.

The launch follows the success of Dubai's 3D map and detailed business directory that was launched in September 2014 by 2GIS, which has already transcended the 100,000 business listings mark. 2GIS joined hands with the government to form alliance for a one-of-its-kind effort to develop global standards that will allow citizens to cruise through these emirates effortlessly.

The app generates a wealth of data that can be utilized to save time, broaden business prospects and attract new start-ups capitalizing on modern technology. The new edge and highly detailed atlas has been mapped and verified of a formidable 16,380 kilometres of road routes whereas 52,726 of Sharjah and 33,385 of Ajman city scrappers have been harnessed in this successful urban innovation.

A total of 500,000+ users are expected to benefit from this upgrade. The app is available on three platforms for free, and has been made available from 1st of September 2015.
