Last week MEQMP and Core Team organized a Technical Session on Overview of ASME Codes for Senior Management at Park Inn Hotel in Al- Khobar. About 100 delegates attended this one of its kind event. Delegates included MEQMP members, Engineers, Managers, Third party Inspectors, design engineers, project engineers, production engineers, QA/QC personnel and few experienced persons associated with pressure vessels, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, etc.
Program was hosted by MEQMP Vice President, Mr. AR Abbasi. Program started with the introduction of Core team and MEQMP which were presented by Mr. Sreeram and Muhammad Asim Baig. The Key note speaker was Mr. Diwakar D. Joshi, who is a well known international speaker and trainer for Quality and inspection related subjects like ASNT, ACCP, Welding Inspection, ISO 9000 and API etc.
The presentation covered few important topics like Introduction of ASME Code System, ASME Sec VIII Div 1, Boiler & Pressure Vessels Code, Welding & Brazing Code, NDE requirements, Materials Requirements, Quality Contents Systems & ASME Certification (ASME Code Stamps), ASME Piping Codes, In-service Inspection codes.
The feedback was excellent and majority of the attendees find the program immensely useful. According to few delegates this program will help them to know what part of the Code will enable them to make adequate decision making with respect to the Code requirements.
MEQMP announced the next program which is a Technical Visit to Abdulla Fouad NDT facility located in the 1st Industrial city of Dammam. This visit will be useful for the NDT professionals either in inspection or trading. This visit is arranged on 25th January, 2010.
After the presentation Mr. Joshi answered the Question asked by few of the delegates. Souvenir were presented to the speakers and the Program ended with a dinner and networking.
