Mobile facility to provide training and systems operations for on-the-job KOC engineers
Kuwait, May 30, 2011: Global oilfield services leader Schlumberger today inaugurated the Schlumberger Mobile Training Center (MTC) at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to facilitate short-term and on-the-job training of KOC engineers operating specific systems and technologies with an emphasis on skills and knowledge required in their day to day duties for the operation and intervention of wells.
The inauguration of the facility was attended and endorsed by KOC Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Sami Al-Rushaid, as well as attended by several deputy managing directors and managers at the company. Attendees from Schlumberger included Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Mr. Mohamed Awad, President of the Middle East and North Africa Mr. Aaron Gatt Floridia, Kuwait General Manager Mr. Maen Razouqi, and other Schlumberger Kuwait Segment Managers.
The MTC is a mobile training facility developed by Schlumberger Kuwait in collaboration with KOC to help enhance learning and training needs of KOC professionals starting with the Well Surveillance Group and later on other groups through tailored programs depending on the requirements of the operational stage conducted in the field. The center offers the tools and equipment for Schlumberger instructors to meet with KOC professionals wherever needed and provide customized training for them that addresses specific needs to increase their expertise in multiple disciplines within the shortest possible timeframe.
