G2 HDD takes Gold in IF Material and IDEA Awards

Dubai, UAE, 21st July 2010 - Simple, stylish, yet durable and highly portable, the eco-friendly G2 is amongst the latest line up of storage devices from Samsung.  Halogen-free, and with a low noise and energy consumption, the G2 comes in four colour schemes and ranges in capacity from 250GB to 640GB.

The innovative hard disk has already won two distinguished awards since its launch. The G2 received the gold at the 2010 IF Material Awards for its eco-friendly material and low power consumption, and it won the gold in the IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) for its environmentally-friendly baobab leaf pattern.

The four colours of the portable hard disk are uniquely created to suit every user. They include Cobalt Black, Silver White, Olive Green and Cobalt Blue. Inspired by nature these consumer-focused devices are setting new standards in terms of design and eco-friendliness combined.

Engineered for absolute ease, the Samsung G2 is equipped with a number of user-friendly features, including SafetyKeyTM password protection facility, Samsung Auto Backup, a data-protection program to safely back all files in real-time or through regular scheduling, and  Samsung SecretZone, a piece of software that encrypts files and folders, effectively acting as a vault for one's PC.

The hard disk also comes with a variety of fast, secure connections. USB 2.0, the industry standard, can transfer data at a maximum rate of 480 Mb/s. With a physical weight of just .138 kg (0.3 pounds), the G2 offers the ultimate in portability.
