Dubai, UAE: Culligan Middle East has earned safety approval from an independent research specialist for the sanitiser developed in the UAE when the company created a new product line in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The surface and skin contact sanitiser was adapted through a laboratory process in Dubai from one of Culligan’s range of water treatment products used in the supply of water to industry, hospitals, hotels and homes across the region.
It has a base of hypochlorous acid, a substance the body’s white blood cells produce naturally to combat infection, and Culligan commissioned a report on the product by UK-based Cutest Systems, a leading research organisation specialising in dermatology and ophthalmology.
The report concluded that the Culligan sanitiser qualified as being “highly effective for disinfection” and was “particularly suitable for environmental disinfection applications, such as reducing environmental transmission of viruses between people.”
Culligan Safe Guard 45 H 25 has also been tested and passed by Dubai Central Laboratory and certified both by the Emirates Authority For Standardization & Metrology and Dubai Municipality.
“As a responsible company, our priority is always ensure that our products are safe and effective,” said Culligan Middle East technical director, Rodger Macfarlane. “The safety report is testimony to the dedication of our laboratory team, and the hard work of our production team, to develop the sanitiser from an existing water treatment product in the space of two weeks.”
