United Arab Emirates, Dubai- 4th March 2007: SAE Institute, innovators in the world of education in the fields of Film, Audio Engineering and Animation, has launched a new GRAPHIC DESIGN CERTIFICATE COURSE which commences on 15th April 2007.
This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the world of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. The course equips students with professional skills enabling them to create and design their own publications for print.
The 6 months course will give students an overview of the complete professional Graphic Design production process: from the development of visual concepts and communication strategies, project planning and pitching to the design implementation in professional graphic software, pre-press, quality control and finally the successful presentation of the final product.
As the course is focused on practical skills, students will have the chance to develop their own Graphic Design portfolio which may be useful for future full-time design course applications or when seeking employment.
The 6 months Graphic Design course is intended for any student who enjoys experimenting with visual editing tools for graphics, photographs or layouts and for those who want to start a career as a Graphic Designer or Art Director in the advertising world. The program is open to anyone; no prior experience or personal equipment is needed.
This part-time course efficiently tutors students on how to create professional designs and layouts in order to gain a deeper understanding of visual concepts. If skills in the field are already insitlled in a student, but they wish to work more efficiently, the course provides students with an enhanced and deeper understanding of the field.
For those who are seeking to further develop their visual "eye" and aesthetic perception and hence excel in their creative jobs, the course fine tunes these skills. This course can be used as a 'stepping stone' for students who wish to progress to our more advanced qualifications, the Diploma of Multimedia and the BA (Hons) Multimedia Arts
There are 7 main sections to this course which when completed offers the graduated student a complete and comprehensive understanding of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. The sections include computer basics; graphics and content integration; digital publishing; design principles; typography; advertising and branding; visual communication; and project management.
