Doha - Qatar, 30 May 2011: Qatargas is supporting the national initiative for enhancing the education and training provided by Quran learning centers throughout the State of Qatar as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme.
Qatargas' support comes in the form of sponsoring a series of workshops that will provide expert guidance to Quran learning centers in the areas of administration, consultancy, training and research.
A cheque for the sponsorship amount was handed over by Mansour Rashid Al-Naimi, Qatargas Public Relations Manager to Dr. Ali Al-Ibrahim, Advisor to the Board, Holy Quran House.
Commenting on Qatargas' support, Mansour Rashid Al-Naimi said: "Supporting various educational initiatives is a key element of Qatargas' corporate citizenship program, which forms an integral part of the company's vision. Qatargas is committed to providing valuable assistance to education, health, safety, and sport programs throughout Qatar."
Dr. Ali Al-Ibrahim thanked Qatargas for the support and said: "We are very grateful for this noble gesture from Qatargas. The teaching and learning of the Holy Quran is an essential part of our social and cultural values. The teachers and students at the Quran learning centers will benefit greatly from this initiative."
The initiative is being rolled by the 'Holy Quran House', under the supervision of Qatar's Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, with the cooperation of several experts and specialists in the field. The workshops being sponsored by Qatargas will help about 125 participants to enhance their teaching and administrative skills.
