QBC benefits from increased organisational efficiency & Lower TCO

Doha, Qatar, February 02, 2012: Microsoft Qatar today announced that Qatar Building Company (QBC) has experienced significant improvements in organizational efficiency and gained increased visibility into key business processes with the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX. Microsoft Dynamics AX is the comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for midsize and larger organizations.

Imad Nweyder, IT Manager, Qatar Building Company said: "With Dynamics AX, Microsoft provides a long-term solution that will take QBC into a new era of technology. The solution has been instrumental in streamlining our business processes in addition to providing lower total cost of operations (TCO) and increased efficiency. A major reason why we chose Microsoft over competing solutions is because it offers a solution that meets our requirements and is already familiar to our users facilitating the change management transition into an ERP system."

According to Yehia Nabil, Dynamics Channels Manager - Microsoft Qatar, "Businesses today need access to a comprehensive ERP solution that can support management & board decisions with objective data analysis and hard facts, thereby delivering greater productivity and enhanced efficiency. In such a scenario, Microsoft Dynamics AX is the ideal ERP solution that can provide QBC with the scalability and flexibility to support growth and take control of business performance."

The introduction of Microsoft Dynamics helped QBC to automate its entire operational processes and centralize the data to have better control and visibility through a sophisticated and user-friendly solution. Microsoft Dynamics AX has also provided QBC with increased data confidentiality, reliable disaster recovery, and better overall IT security and IT governance.

During the implementation process, Dynamics AX helped integrate with their estimation & designing systems. The ease of use and reasonable implementation duration was a principal reason for QBC to adopt the Dynamics AX solution. Microsoft also offered cost-effective packages that suited the number of users and types of access.

To make a smooth transition to the new solution, QBC chose to begin implementation in only one company of the whole group, in order to test for any eventualities.  This company was chosen as it matched a prototype of the whole QBC Group, which offered a better sense of how the entire implementation would develop. QBC was then able to scale up and go-live after a record-breaking nine months for 8 companies.

In the case of supply chain management, Microsoft Dynamics AX can streamline and automate business processes throughout the supply chain to improve planning, optimize inventory levels, reduce costs and enable a faster response to changes in customer demand. In terms of Business Intelligence, the solution leverages Microsoft SQL Reporting Services to deliver extensible reporting tools and a platform that provides access to relevant, real-time data across an organization to simplify monitoring, deeply analyze business performance, and enhance planning and budgeting.
