For the second year in a row, Sultan is recognized as one of the most influential telecoms industry leaders by Global Telecoms Business

Dubai,23 October 2011: In an affirmation of his ground-breaking strategies and achievements as the head of the UAE's fastest-growing telecommunications company, Osman Sultan, CEO, du, has been ranked 50th on the GTB Power100 List of 2011, a run-down of the top 100 most powerful executives in the telecoms industry.

The GTB Power100 List, compiled and published by Global Telecoms Business on an annual basis, includes telecommunications' most recognized and influential figures. This is the second time in two years that Osman Sultan has been noted on the list for his contributions to the telecommunications industry through du.

Osman Sultan was appointed CEO of du in January 2006. Since then, he has driven the company to become a key player in the region, with recent financial results showing revenues in Q2 2011 increased by 28% compared to last year, and five million mobile customers to date. Today, du is the operator of choice for the majority of new subscribers in the UAE, with some of the most innovative offerings in internet, television, mobile and fixed services available in the region.

Throughout his career, Sultan has spent time in several leading telecoms providers across the globe, most recent of which was eight years running MobiNil, which he established to become the first mobile telephony operator in Egypt.
