Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's academic institutions which include colleges and universities, either independent or with international affiliations, have sustained very high quality standards that are second to none. The graduate, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered in the Sultanate of Oman have produced exceptional graduates who have been absorbed by leading Omani corporates. Demonstrating these high standards, 28 academic institutions from Oman are exhibiting at GHEDEX 2013 this year.

"Not only Omani students, but an increasing number of expatriates are pursuing not just their school level education, but continuing their higher education in Oman, a trend that was previously not heard of. Students and parents attribute this trend to the increasing quality of higher education in Oman, the earning potential in the labour market and the high standard of living in the country" says Mr. Muktar Mirza, Project Manager, GHEDEX 2013.

Higher education institutions like IDP Education PTY LTD ; Bayan College ; Gulf College ; Majan College ; Oman Medical College ; Sur University ; The Modern College of Business & Science ; International College of Eng. & Management ; International Maritime College Oman ; Arab Open University ; Al-Zahra College for Women ; Military Technological College ; University of Buraimi ; German University of Technology in Oman - GUTech ; DAAD ; University of Wolverhampton ; Sohar University LLC ; Curtin University ; Dhofar University ; Majan College ; A'Sharqiyah University ; Waljat College of Applied Sciences ; College of Banking & Financial studies ; Ministry of Man Power - Higher College of Technology ; Campus France - French Embassy ; University of Nizwa ; Mazoon College and the Caledonian College of Engineering will offer diverse options to Omani and international students seeking to further their education in the Sultanate of Oman.

"The higher education opportunities in Oman are more affordable when compared to seeking the same abroad and the higher education institutions in the country are collaborating with international institutions to reach out to the youth of the country. The job market in Oman is also quite stable and students living in Oman tend to continue working here. They are benefited by the fact that companies in Oman prefer Omani and expatriate students who have undertaken their studies within the country itself since these students are more familiar with the local culture" concludes Mr. Mirza.

Oman's leading Global Higher Education Exhibition will take place from 23rd -25th April, 2013 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre. Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education, the event is organised by OITE Trade Fairs alongside the Training, Job Opportunities and Omanisation Exhibition-TRAINEX and JOBEX 2013.
