Independent Financial Advisor Emerges Triumphant at Middle East Insurance Awards 2008
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Nexus, the region's leading independent financial advisor, has been named as the Middle East's Personal Lines Broker of the Year at a major meeting of insurance professionals.
The company, which was launched in 2006 following a management buy-out, received the honour at the Middle East Insurance Awards 2008 in a ceremony at the Raffles Hotel, Dubai.
Judges cited Nexus as a "real success story for the region," following its development into a regionally and internationally-recognised financial brand that has kept strong roots in the Middle East.

Nexus achieved a number of important milestones in 2007, including achieving 90 percent referral rates for new business and launching a dedicated client service team.
In addition, the company has signed a range of local and international providers, which have introduced a number of innovative Takaful and conventional insurance products to the market.
Nexus is also working with the Chartered Insurance Institute to help improve the standard of professional certification through the introduction of a specially-developed Qualification for the Middle East. The company already places a premium on encouraging its representatives to pursue certification as well as professional and ethical standards, with advisers encouraged and assisted financially to study for a qualification.
The Middle East awards received entries from companies across the GCC, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iran, and were judged by an international panel of independent industry experts.
