Over 400 Exhibitors to Showcase Latest Innovations at Gulf Print & Pack 2011 in Dubai

Dubai-UAE: 13 March, 2011 - New technological advancements in machinery and materials are creating fresh opportunities for commercial and package printing industries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), according to organisers of Gulf Print & Pack 2011, leading industry event for printers, converters and packers in the region.

Addressing a pre-event press conference in Dubai, Roger Pellow, Managing Director, Gulf Print & Pack, said the event will additionally explore the latest innovations as well as cutting edge technology and solutions from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

To be held from 14-17 March at Airport Expo in Dubai, Gulf Print & Pack is expected to attract over 400 exhibitors from the printing and publishing industries. More than 7,000 trade professionals and industry visitors are expected to attend the event.

Gulf Print & Pack 2011 will witness an emphatic presence by International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), the dedicated free zone for the printing, publishing, packaging (3P) and graphics art industries and a member of TECOM Investments' Media Cluster.

Roger Pellow said: "At present, no other show adequately covers the commercial and package printing industry like Gulf Print & Pack. The entire gamut of package printing is a real growth area. This year, the event will showcase several solutions for package printing from laminates to tubes, pouches, shrink labels and wrap-around.

"We are grateful to IMPZ for its support and believe the partnership will prove beneficial to industry professionals and trade visitors. The event will offer a recognized platform for sales and new leads and prove extremely valuable to all those printers/converters and manufacturers."

The seminar sessions during the afternoons over the first three days will focus on practical case studies and reviews. The topics will include security printing and anti-counterfeit solutions, digital solutions for printing and packaging as well as package print and converting.

At Gulf Print & Pack 2011, IMPZ will be showcasing some of its key offerings including pre-built production units such as pre-engineered units. The units comprise warehouses with offices and showrooms and industrial land, available to investors who wish to build their own media production outlets.

Saeed AlFalasi, Executive Director of International Media Production Zone, said: "IMPZ complements Dubai's vision of becoming a global media destination through offering the finest resources, cutting-edge technologies and advanced production amenities. Driven by strong interest from foreign investors, IMPZ is fast evolving into a vibrant community of popular titles and related media services. We will continue to demonstrate our commitment to business partners by creating avenues that enable them to expand their investments and operations."

Industry leaders such as Canon, Emirates Trans Graphics, Océ, and Ali Al Hashemi will have a significant presence at the show. In addition, Gulf Print & Pack 2011 will have a large number of working machinery and equipment on display as many exhibitors prefer to launch their new products and services during the event.

According to a study by Pira International, a portal serving the global paper, packaging, printing and publishing industries, total printing revenues in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region reached US$7.7 billion in 2009 and are expected to increase to almost US$11 billion by 2015, with  a compound annual growth rate of 7.7 per cent. The study titled 'Printing Industry Research Association - The Future of Printing in the Middle East and North Africa to 2015' was released in October 2010.

Strategically located only 10 minutes from the upcoming Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, 35km southwest of Dubai, IMPZ is conceptualised to complement Dubai's vision of becoming a global media destination and provide a pro-business environment in the midst of a unique production cluster.
