Middle East - NEC Computers, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has announced the availability of the new NEC Storage D-Series that sets new standards for cost-effective scalability, performance and availability, giving businesses affordable entry storage solutions for assured data security and serenity.

The NEC D-Series incorporates innovative design and features include:
- Mixable SAS & SATA HDDs: within the same storage subsystems increasing storage configuration flexibility

- RAID Triple Mirror (TM): for combining solid RAID-1 performance along with the protection against double disk drive failure

- NEC Phoenix®: NEC's patented Phoenix® technology reduces HDD degradation, cutting the need for systems rebuilds

- MAID Technology: reducing system power consumption by powering off unused disk drives.

Cost Effective Storage
NEC will be introducing 2 models of the D-Series to be available throughout the entire NEC Computers distribution network, enabling business to choose the right system adapted to their storage requirements:

NEC Storage D1-10
An entry level model for small and medium businesses or workgroups offering excellent TCO and performance, scalable up to 4x 4Gb/s Fiber Channel Host Ports, 72x SAS/SATA HDDs, and 2GB Cache.

NEC Storage D3-10
An entry to mid-range model designed for businesses and enterprise departments, combining increased performance and TCO, with greater capacity and throughput, featuring up to 12x 4Gb/s Fiber Channel Host Ports, 144x SAS/SATA HDDs and 4GB cache.
