Nakheel, the property developer who has conceived some of the most unique and iconic projects in Dubai has announced that 75 per cent of the properties on its latest development, The Lost City sold out in three days.

The new project, which recreates a series of old lost cities complete with the old style of architecture from all over the Arab world and other regions such as the Southern Continent, North Africa and Persia has generated overwhelming response from UAE nationals, and of the other countries in the GCC, who wanted to own a piece of their history and heritage in Dubai.

Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Chairman, Nakheel, said: "By presenting the investors a chance to own a part of history through old style buildings with different themed elevations that go back hundreds of years, The Lost City has once again demonstrated the success of Nakheel in offering unique and exclusive living options. The investors took to their heart, the idea of owning properties that are exact replicas of lost and forgotten cities and the swift sale of properties in this unique development is a measure of the trust the investors have placed in us for the quality and the value proposition that are ingrained in our projects, which always meets and sometimes exceed the investor needs and expectations."

The Lost City which is being laid out in a 560-hectare area in Jebel Ali, at the intersection of the Military Road and Emirates Road, is organised under five distinct areas such as, The Lost City Hotel Village, The Souk Village, The Gateways Village, The Gardens Village and The Hilltop village. The Lost City stands out from the rest of Nakheel's project as its two, three and four bedroom villas, townhouses and apartments are being constructed in the glorious traditions of old architectural style of ancient times.

"The old-style signature architecture has come back to life from antiquity through Nakheel. Our team of engineers, architecture consultants, historians and scholars of eminent standing have visited most of the important architectural finds from the orient to the occident, to study the architectural styles of the people who populated these regions hundreds of years ago. The ground based research and analysis of countless pieces of artefacts and vast volumes of travelogues and historical documents have revealed a canvas of the rich style of architecture, which Nakheel is recreating brick by brick here in Dubai," said Bin Sulayem.

'Right from the cobbled stone streets of the common areas in the development to the authentic souks and water themes that are scattered all over project, The Lost City will recreate a way of life that once flourished in the Fertile Crescent, Arabian Peninsula, Persia, Mongolia and North Africa," Bin Sulayem continued.

The amenities in The Lost City are spread throughout the five distinct districts in the development. The Lost City Hotel Village will host an authentic hotel with different themes, built in the style of early wayside inns, which dotted the trade routes that once expanded from Mongolia in the East to Andalusia in the West. The district will also see house eateries and other modern-day family amenities. In addition, there will be extensive walkways, cycling and jogging trails along with retail facilities in the Souk Village. The Gardens Village will recreate the opulence of Islamic decorative architecture with gardens set among exquisite fountains and waterways. The Lost City will also provide all the trappings of a modern living, including swimming pools, themed streets and a signature 18-Hole Golf Course, designed by the renowned Professional Golfer and Course Designer, Greg Norman, which blends in seamlessly with the architectural theme of this unique project.

"The Lost City radiates a certain ambience as Nakheel resuscitates a chapter in the rich vocabulary of Islamic history. The development is Nakheel's tribute to the diversity of the ancient traditions, its inclusiveness and its teachings which formed the foundation to the great monuments that has withstood the tides of time," concluded Sulayem.
