Loads of surprises are in store for little ones on the first day of the Modhesh Fun City at the Dubai World Trade Center as clowns usher in children with balloons and offer them free face-painting

As Dubai Summer Surprises takes off to a flying start today, its star attraction Modhesh Fun City opens its doors to welcome children of all ages. Children eagerly waiting for Modhesh Fun City to unleash a world of creative entertainment and learning opportunities have a reason to be excited about this summer as their very own Modhesh Fun City comes packed with exciting games, loads of activities and engaging workshops laced with lots and lots of fun. The wait is over and it's time for action. The opening day will see clowns welcoming children with balloons and offering them free face-painting.

Calling all families to join in the fun, the Modhesh Fun City presents an ambience of Modhesh and his world of surprises and gives you a chance to take home memories for years to come. It's an opportunity you wouldn't like to miss. The largest indoor theme park at the Dubai International Convention Center (Dubai World Trade Centre) has been sponsored by Emirates airline, Etisalat, Dubai World Trade Center, Mirinda and Aquafina this year and offers a diverse range of wholesome activities to cater to different interests and age-groups. While the kids have a blast their parents too will get to share the fun in the amazing world of Modhesh. Beginning today, Modhesh Fun City opens its doors to public from 10am onwards. On weekdays you can join in the fun from 10am to 10pm while on Wednesdays and Thursdays you get an extra hour in the evenings i.e. 10am to 11pm. On Fridays the timings are 3pm to 11pm. Modhesh Fun City will remain open throughout the DSS until September 1 when children will bid farewell to the lovable Mascot until the next summer.

Spread across a sprawling 16,000 sq metres, the Modhesh Fun City occupies Halls 2,3,4,5 and 6 of DICC. The entry tickets for unlimited fun at Modhesh Fun City are priced at Dh5 for kids from ages 2 to 12 and Dh10 for kids and adults aged 12 and above.

Says Yousif Mubarak, DSS Events, Operations and Services Director, "This year's newest attractions include a dedicated music zone which takes you on a musical journey around the world and gives you a chance to experience musical ecstasy from different cultures. The Music Zone - Bim Bum Bam or Music is Fun has been created in Hall No. 5 of DICC and promises to be a truly unique experience. The Toddlers Zone, offering a Ball Pool, Soft Play Zone, Kids Play Ground and Mini Stage for competitions and games, is another brand new addition to the MFC this year," informs Yousif adding, "The idea behind the Modhesh Fun City is to enable children to hone their skills in a fun way that's the reason we have dedicated zones for different activities be it arts, sports or theater and music."

One of the most exciting venues of DSS besides the shopping malls and other attractions, the Modhesh Fun City welcomes all those looking for fun, entertainment, adventure, learning or just some free leisure time.

One day is not enough to savour the unique offerings of this amazing city and most of the visitors will return to cherish the experience.

As the Fun City is themed around Modhesh and his world of surprises, it's THE place place to be this summer and offers a world unto itself. A dedicated Entertainment Hall featuring international stage shows, football matches on TV and movies on the latest 4D cinema invites those seeking wholesome entertainment.

Equipped with a Modhesh main stage with a seating capacity of 600 to host several international cartoon characters as well as the traditional Al Maidan stage for cultural shows, the Modhesh Fun City offers a diverse mix of activities to cater to all interests.

Then there is an exciting funfair area with numerous rides and games to enthrall the little ones. For those seeking an outlet to showcase their talents a Talent Hall has been opened complete with an Arts & Crafts and Sand Art & Sculpting Zones. The Tech Hall comes with touch screen games and high-tech facilities to exploit children's aptitude in technology while the Construction Hall offers think and play zone and a giant puzzle corner for some exercise of the mind.

The huge facility also has something in store for the parents. It offers relaxation areas for the grown-ups in the form of two well stocked family food courts and sitting areas with newspapers and magazine as well as a dedicated Mom and Dad Hall with a sports screen and traditional zone.

Besides these dedicated play zones the MFC also offers an in-house media centre to handle PR and media queries and to link Modhesh Fun City with the DSS Media Centre, an internal radio station to make important announcements. It will also attend to the visiting local and international press and conduct MFC press releases. Junior journalists will be posted at the media centre to look after its various responsibilities.
