The Renaissance style shopping mall is hosting the "Asian Week" from Thursday, 4th till Wednesday, 10th January 2007

Mercato, the first themed renaissance style mall in the Middle East and UAE and a DSF Patron Sponsor since 2002, invites everyone this time to an unforgettable voyage to the Asian continent during their "Around the World in 45 days" promotion. Announcing the Calendar of events for the weekend and the coming week, Raida El Khoury, PR & Corporate Communications Manager Mercato and Town Centre Jumeirah said, "This time we would like to invite our valuable shoppers to the "Asian Journey" from Thursday until next Wednesday as we are hosting during the weekends (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) stunning stage shows in Mercato and Town Centre that include Geisha and Chinese Dancers, Asian Arts and Crafts, Food tasting and in Town Centre Jumeirah, Sumo Sushi and Bento will give our visitors the opportunity to learn how to make Sushi during the whole week!

Mercato show timings are from 6pm to 6.20pm, 6.40pm to 7pm, 8.40pm to 9pm and 9.20pm to 9.40pm while Town Centre Jumeirah show timings are from 7.40pm till 8pm. Fiesta caf at Mercato will be holding in the evenings' Asian food tasting sessions during weekends while the Porto Vecchio Village area will be transformed into a children's interactive art area over week-ends from 6-9pm throughout DSF, where children will be encouraged to create various items from Asia. There will be also a plasma screen set up, showing children's movies from around the world.

Mercato, in association with its sister mall Town Centre Jumeirah, is running a Spend-2-Win promotion during the 45 day event. Visitors who spend Dhs 200 in any outlet in either or both malls will be entered in a lucky draw to win exciting prizes. With a grand prize of a 2007 model luxury Volkswagen Touareg, there will also be weekly prizes to reward shoppers. Every week, one lucky shopper will be gifted a luxury trip for two to one of the  world's five continents - including flights and bed and breakfast in luxury accommodation - for a minimum stay of four days. After the five weekly draws, the holiday winners' tickets will also be entered into the final draw. Apart from the two awe-inspiring prizes, Mercato has announced a special Spend-2-Win promotion, at the Porto Vecchio Village. Every shopper who spends Dhs. 200 at any Porto Vecchio Village (PVV) outlet, stand to win diamond jewellery valued at Dhs. 100,000, from Damas.
