New microwave oven wins 2007 Good Design Award for design excellence
Dubai, UAE - Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics, a pioneer in home appliance convergence, has strengthened its position in innovation and design with the launch of its latest microwave oven, the New WAVEDOM.
The New WAVEDOM won the Good Design Award for design excellence in 2007 and LG is confident that this appliance will appeal to consumers who value style in their daily lives.
"Traditionally, far less effort went into microwave oven design compared to other product categories such as refrigerators and washing machines," said Mr. K. W. Kim, President LG Electronics - Middle East and Africa.
"However, today's customers are more style-sensitive in choosing their home appliances, and will not purchase an unattractive or bulky product that does not blend with other home appliances," he added.
In addition to the many top-of-the-line functions consumers have come to expect from LG, the New WAVEDOM boasts enhanced aesthetic features, including a choice of front panels to suit any kitchen environment.
Just as LG's multi-purpose microwave ovens with built-in toaster ovens or coffee makers previously attracted customers looking to free up kitchen counter space, the New WAVEDOM will appeal to customers who prefer stylish home appliances. A full-glass front panel with a sleek metal handle gives the microwave a sophisticated yet fashionable look. Customers can choose from black, white, silver or stainless steel panels to integrate with their home or kitchen décor.
Space efficiency is another virtue of the New WAVEDOM. Its round interior provides approximately 30 per cent more usable cooking space over conventional microwave ovens with rectangular cooking areas.
By eliminating corners, LG has eliminated difficult-to-reach areas for inside the microwave as well, making cleaning easier. This not only saves time but also creates a more hygienic cooking space.
A convenient dial controller and tilted buttons enable first-time users to easily operate the New WAVEDOM right out of the box. The oven also comes with an animated manual on its widescreen display, and even features special button indicators for the visually impaired.
