Dubai, UAE – 3M MEA is pleased to announce that Laszlo Svinger, Vice President & Managing Director of 3M Middle East & Africa, has been elected as Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Dubai for 2021.
The AmCham Board of Directors selected Laszlo Svinger as a member of the Board of Directors to replace Robert Nichols, former Vice President & Managing Director 3M Middle East & Africa who retired from his position in the Board earlier in June. Laszlo assumes the position as Board Member of the American Chamber of commerce Dubai immediately and will serve the remaining term until 2022. We would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Robert for his dedicated efforts, leadership and commitment over the four years of service! As a member, Laszlo will continue to represent 3M in 2021. The AmCham is the first bilateral trade organization established in the U.A.E. and operates under the local patronage of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Commenting on his new appointment, Laszlo Svinger stated, "I believe that collaborative partnerships are crucial in creating thriving communities with the UAE and beyond. I’m honored and excited to join the AmCham team and find ways to strengthen our community bonds, advance the mission and vision of AmCham Dubai, and advocate for UAE as a trusted destination for American families and international businesses."
The new 11-member Board is comprised of a diverse group of business leaders representing UAE and American businesses. The Council’s membership is made up of spokespeople, including American and Emirati individuals, from American Fortune 500 companies, SMEs, and U.A.E. organizations across various industries. The AmCham acts as a catalyst for American business in the region and serves as a united voice for U.S.-headquartered entities.

Prior to this recent appointment, Laszlo held several managerial positions within major international companies at oil and gas sector such as ExxonMobil and ENI (Agip) Corporation. Laszlo brings a wealth of experience as a global industry and healthcare senior executive having joined 3M in 2008 as Business Development Manager, Safety, Security and Protection System with 3M Hungary. He was responsible for driving sustainable financial growth and forging strong relationships with clients. He was later assigned to lead 3M’s Healthcare Business in Russia before moving to the United Arab Emirates as CEEMEA Area Director for Health Care Business Group and most recently holding the position of EMEA Area Director for Food Safety Division.
AmCham Dubai represents the bilateral trade and development interests of industries, corporations and individual members in Dubai and across the Middle East.
