Kingdom Foundation* (KF) Chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud donated $250,000 to the James Baker III Institute, Rice University to support of The Israeli Palestinian Workshop. It is worth mentioning that Ms. Muna Abusulayman is the Executive Director of Kingdom Foundation.
For the past two years, the Baker Institute has organized and hosted multiple working group sessions focused on a Trilateral Action Plan for successfully implementing the Roadmap to Peace. Workshops of the Israeli- Palestinian Working Group have been held in Houston, Washington, DC, and Sharm el-Sheikh, and its members include high-level Israeli and Palestinian officials, as well as other U.S. and international officials closely involved with the peace plan. Under the leadership of Ambassador Edward P. Djerejian (The Baker Institute's Founding Director), the working group's principle focus remains how to move from unilateral disengagement to trilateral engagement among the Israelis, the Palestinians and the international community.
KF supported the Baker Institute's Arab-Israeli Conflict Resolution project with the amount of $250,000 as part of KF's commitment to match the funds contributed by any Jewish/Israeli front, represented here by Mr. Daniel A. Abraham.
Since its inception in 1993 and as an integral part of Rice University, the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy has established itself as one of the leading nonpartisan public policy think tanks in the country.
Kingdom Foundation has funded many cultural, educational and philanthropic projects globally including, the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 in Czech Republic, the Muslin Women Lawyers for Human Rights, KARAMAH Organization's Annual Law and Leadership Summer Program in the US and the Unity Productions Foundation's (UPF) "Ending the Clash: An Education Outreach Initiative."
