JVC Gulf, the Japanese consumer electronics giant, has launched Everio - a revolutionary digital media camera that can record high quality video and still images on several digital recording media. With the launch of Everio, JVC has established a new benchmark with a format that combines convenience with the high storage capacity required to meet real world needs.
Everio is the first digital media camera to utilise the power of Microdrive - a 4GB storage device which includes its own 1 inch removable Hard Disk Drive (HDD) - to provide ultimate convenience and quality. By using this advanced technology, Everio is able to shoot 60 minutes of continuous, ultra high quality MPEG-2 video images, store 9,999 JPEG digital stills at high resolution and also about 35 hours voice recording.
"Everio offers unique design, unrivalled convenience and the best quality in the digital media camera market," said Yoshikazu Yamamoto, President, JVC Gulf. "The Microdrive storage device not only offers massive increases in the volume and resolution of video and still images, it also allows for fast transfer to a PC, as information can be transferred via USB 2.0."
Two sleek, stylish models of Everio have been launched: the profile style GZ-MC200 and the vertical style GZ-MC100. Both models incorporate a 1.8 inch LCD monitor, auto and manual focus, digital image stabiliser using gyro sensor, built-in auto flash, record and playback-mode special effects and many other innovative features. Everio is also the smallest digital media camera in the world to incorporate micro HDD.
"Installing a HDD in any type of video camera has always posed problems, as the device is sensitive to movement - especially that caused by an unsteady hand," explained Mitsuo Nishida, Marketing Manager - Video, JVC Gulf.
"Through extensive research and development, JVC has solved this problem by creating the Floating Suspension System - physically removing the HDD from any external impact."
Everio was launched at DigiVision - an annual exhibition organised by Oasis Enterprises, JVC's distributors in the UAE for the past 20 years. In addition to the launch of Everio, DigiVision also features the Mega Power audio system, which boasts the highest audio output of any home theatre system in the world, the DynaPix range of plasma, LCD and conventional TVs, the newest DVD/VCR combination unit and JVC's innovative range of mobile entertainment systems. DigiVision will open to the public from 5pm to 10pm on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th December and rom 10am to 10pm on Friday 10th December.
The DigiVision exhibition comes towards the end of an exciting year for JVC Gulf, which saw the company launch numerous innovative products, expand its distribution network and continue to work towards its aim of providing 'the perfect experience in consumer electronics'.
"This is our brand statement," explained Nishida. "It is our promise to customers; to propose a fulfilling lifestyle and create truly moving experiences through superior technology. The launch of Everio fits this ethos perfectly - with this product JVC has raised the benchmark in digital media camera technology to offer consumers an unrivalled audio visual product."
