John Frijns has been named Head of Emerging Markets Middle East & Egypt, based in Dubai effective July 1, 2015. BASF has established this new position to better support BASF's growing business in the region.

John Frijns started his professional career in 1981 as Sales Correspondent Overseas Areas at Ciba-Geigy in the Netherlands. After holding multiple executive positions in marketing and sales with increasing responsibilities across varied segments and countries, he joined BASF through the acquisition of Ciba in 2009.

For the last six years, John Frijns has headed the Regional Business Unit Plastic Additives Europe located in Basel, Switzerland. He brings along extensive business management experience and a well-established relationship network with key players in the Middle East.
