The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has announced its successful participation in the “Arab Health 2017” exhibition which is opened at Dubai World Trade Centre on January 30 to February 2. The Japanese pavilion showcases the latest health innovations and technologies, all while receiving so many visitors and investors from around the globe.
Japan Pavilion participates in Arab Health since 2010, and the participation in the “Arab Health 2017” is its largest ever, with 20 Japanese medical technology firms in attendance. Eleven are first-time participants, while nine are repeat participants continuing their uninterrupted streak of participating every year in the region’s largest scientific-medical summit and exhibition.
Their participation is a step forward in strengthening and further boosting Nippon’s advanced technology in the field of quality healthcare delivery systems. This was especially important considering Japan has bounced back from the economic doldrums it suffered in the late 1990s and has since implemented the “Japan is Back” policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in 2013.
“The companies who take part in this exhibition shed light on the latest technologies and showcase a multitude of exceptional healthcare innovations. These include ultra-thin needles that lessen patient discomfort, a new anti-decubitus air mattress system and micro blades with uniquely shaped edges for fine incision. This caliber of innovation is why Japan has been a longtime pioneer in the industry,” said Masami Ando, Managing Director of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) — Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
These 20 manufacturing companies focusing on healthcare needs such as infection control products, rehabilitation and physiotherapy equipment, hydrotherapy medical devices, automatic labeling systems, disposable surgical needles and gentle lighting will be able to make a great impact in the highly competitive industry in the Middle East, currently dominated by huge players outside Japan.
The Japan Pavilion at Arab Health 2017 attracted attracts healthcare industry specialists, including importers and distributors in the MENA region seeking to profit from the scientific progress that Japan has attained in the areas of medical devices and healthcare technology.
