Mashreq Qatar offers up to six free supplementary debit cards on the same bank account

Doha, 6 September 2014: Mashreq Qatar, the leading financial institution in the Middle East & North Africa, has launched a Supplementary ATM/Debit Card in partnership with VISA. Individual customers can now open an account and get up to six free Supplementary ATM/Debit Cards issued for their immediate family members. Cardholders can use the cards to withdraw cash from their accounts using any ATM in Qatar, or withdraw cash with zero withdrawal fee from any of the 1 million ATMs across the world displaying the Visa logo. 

The facility of more than 1 ATM/Debit card has several benefits for customers.  Once the account is opened, the additional cards can be given to family members to use on a day to day basis in Qatar.  Another key benefit is INSTANT access to funds across the world.  The customer can provide the card to their family member in their home country - as soon as they deposit money into the account in Qatar, the family member can immediately use the supplementary card to withdraw money from the same account from any ATM displaying the VISA logo - and Mashreq will not charge any international cash withdrawal fee.

Since customer security is always a key priority for Mashreq, customers have the option to assign daily & monthly withdrawal limits on their supplementary cards.  Mashreq Gold customers will get additional benefits including free access to Al Maha services at Doha International airport & Marhaba services at Dubai international airport, twice a year.

Niranjan Mendonca, Head of Retail Banking, Mashreq Qatar said: "We want to provide the highest levels of convenience for our customers.  Some customers may give this card to their children to use for day to day expenses in Qatar.  Other customers can give the card to their parents in their home country so they can be provided with funds immediately for no fee, without having to wait in line for a money transfer which will take 3 days to reach and pay remittance charges."
