Governments and multi-nationals across the Middle East and Asia are shifting their focus towards Human Capital Issues, as they take charge of booming industries such as Construction, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications and Banking. Given this new focus, BusinessWeek's Middle-East Asia Leadership Forum brought together leaders from both regions to address the latest issues in this critical field that affects the common future of both parts of the world.

Sam Moon
, CEO of DNMstrategies (producer and manager of BusinessWeek events), Hong Kong says, "In the past, human capital was simply seen as labor and possibly even as a commodity. However, today there is an understanding of the need to develop a repertoire of productive knowledge and technology skills. With an exchange of ideas between countries rich in human capital and those that have the need for specific skills to drive their economies, we are sure to reach effective solutions for both sides. In addition, with leaders such as HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahayan and HE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi driving talent growth prove the significance of the issue in particular. "

Dr. Nasser Saidi, Chief Economist, DIFC adds to the subject, "The epicenter of the world's economic geography is moving East. Middle East businesses are going multinational, evolving their human capital, investment strategies and portfolio. They are aggressively targeting international talent to leverage overseas opportunities and Asia is a big player in this new investment environment, soaking up an increasing share of outbound capital. This is a time to trade, invest and integrate resources. The Middle-East Asia Leadership Forum will help build strategic links and develop new opportunities for these two regions."

V Shankar, Global Head, Corporate Finance, Standard Chartered Bank, said: "Standard Chartered has been operating for over 150 years in Asia, Africa and the Middle East - some of the world's fastest growing economies.  As a company, our key differentiator is our diversity, with our employees representing over 100 nationalities globally.  Our dynamic, international and talented workforce is one of the core strengths of our business and we are constantly working to develop this talent pool and share resources and expertise across markets."

BusinessWeek's Middle-East Asia Leadership Forum is hosted in Dubai this year for the first time on 22 and 23 May at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Over the past 14 years, BusinessWeek has hosted its Asia Leadership Forum in key cities across Asia and is moving it to the Middle-East this year to establish key links and partnerships between the two regions. With the theme "Partnering for Success: Mastering Change, Leveraging Opportunity" the event takes place at a critical time as the focus of global growth shifts to these two regions and businesses from both sides are seeking to establish or deepen business links.

Session topics will explore the long-term outlooks and growing economic linkages between both these regions, global security issues and best business practices to spur innovation and growth at global enterprises. The forum illustrated that the skill set required by corporate leaders is evolving as are business models and the pressure has never been more intense to deliver strong results and drive growth.

The conference features a stellar lineup of over 50 global and Asian CEOs and thought leaders from around the world, including:
