Abu Dhabi. 20th of November 2006: Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi's premium shopping destination, welcomed the former German Chancellor H.E. Gerhard Schr?der along with H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and H.E Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Minister of labor to open the "What Do You Think About the West?" exhibition. The exhibition, attended by other prominent dignitaries, aimed to explore the similarities and differences between young people in Germany and the Gulf.
"Marina Mall is extremely proud to host this exhibition. Hosting this exhibition reflects our ongoing efforts to promote a culture of learning and emphasize the exposure to different cultures. We are honored by the visit of H.E. Gerhard Schr?der to Marina Mall," said Nadeem Wajahat, General Manager of Marina Mall.
The exhibition will run from the 20th until the 26th of November and will be featuring a photo and video installation prepared by German artists Julia Gerlach and B?rbel M?llmann, which portrays nine young Arabs living and working in Dubai and the reactions of young Germans to these portrayals on video and the internet. The exhibition is organised by the Goethe-Institute Liaison Office for the Gulf-Region in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Authority for Heritage and Culture in cooperation with Marina Mall and with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office.
